The Purple Brush is the brainchild of Stella Choi, who was born with flat, straight hair. She grew up in Southern California where full, sexy hair like Pamela Anderson’s was always in vogue. Countless hours were spent trying to copy that famous ‘do to no avail. Stella’s straight hair would always slip off the brush and fly around her face when she used her blow dryer. Stella’s hair dream was lost. Instead, plain ponytails became her signature look.

It wasn’t until Stella started working at her family’s beauty supply business that she discovered many other women experienced the same frustrations. Women with straight and curly hair alike complained that their hair never stayed on the brush or it flew around their head like a tornado. Stella set out to solve this problem once and for all. She searched high and low for that “perfect blow out brush” only to find that it did not exist. All blow out brushes were the same: round-shaped with bristles.

So Stella decided to start her own company dedicated to designing innovative hairbrushes to suit specific needs, and that's how Parlay Brush Co. was born.  The first hairbrush designed by her company is the Purple Brush.
